How I'm making some passive income

Hi, I’m a full-time Freelance Graphic/Web Designer as you’ll have noticed and now i would like share how I’ve earned a nice income besides my client’s work. There are a lot’s of affiliate programs out there butt the problem with those affiliate programs is that you have to run a successfully blog or community to attract visitors. The reason is very simple, if there are no visitors on you’re site then there’s no clicking on those affiliate banners.

Now i’m going to tell you a little secret, well it’s not really a secret because a lot of Graphic designers know this butt for those who didn’t it’s a secret. Below is list of sites where you can generate some nice passive income. There are more of these sites butt this article is about the sites I’m using.

1) ThemeForest

ThemeForest is an Envato Marketplace. At ThemeForest you can sell xhtml/css templates and PSD layouts for CMS products like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla. Authors receive a commission between 40% and 70%, yes that’s right from the 15ht of february the commissions will rise up. They also have a very interesting affiliate program, when you refer a new buyer to Themeforest you take 30% (new rates from the 15th of february) of there first deposit, pretty generous huh! 2) 99Designs

99designs is a web site where great designers can enter competitions held by clients, You’re free to submit as many designs as you like to whichever contests you like.  What type of Graphic work? Well, a logo, a web site design, some business cards or letterhead, or maybe even a magazine ad. Look for a contest of you’re choice and compete with a massive community of professional designers from around the world. It’s also a very good opportunity improve you’re skills and to gain new client’s. A lot of designers think these sites are Bullshit, i disagree because you’re self responsible for you’re actions and witch contest to pick or even have to look out for frauds, look at there portfolio and previous submitted contest results.

3) CrowdSpring

CrowdSpring is a website for graphic designers to compete with other great designers, A client posts a project, and then the designers will submit there designs in a massive way. Still a lot a heavy competition out there so you’ll need to do you’re very best to win a contest. With this site comes the same tip as above, look out for frauds, watch there previous submitted contests, and when you’re not convinced that you’ll win then don’t continue with that particular contest, just pick another one.

4) PSDTuts

When you’re a good designer and want to share you’re knowledge with everybody and in the same time earn some cash while doing so, then you may submit an excellent graphic related tutorial to psdtuts.com. they pay you US$150 p/tutorial that is accepted, and you’ll have the honour of being published on the best photoshop tutorial blog around!  Read the guidelines here, i haven’t got the time to submit any tutorials yet butt i’ll sure will in the near future.

5) iStockPhoto

iStock’s is an community of artists and designers, ready to share, learn, teach, and create together. So whether you’re a master or new and ready to learn. At iStock You’ll earn 20% of every credit that’s used to download your artwork. After you’re a member for a while You can apple to be a Exclusive iStock member and you’re earnings go up to 40% of each download.
